I remember that we discussed the western-influenced art in MT a while back. The
decision was that using stock art to make non-anime stuff was okay (in general
walls or vectors), as long as the original image is changed enough. However, we
don't allow any specific western-themed things like western bands, western
cartoons or western movies.
Those vectors by alterlier are done using stock art, it's not a specific
band/singer/actor etc. The Revlon one was done from this scan: Heroine by DREAM which is
by an Eastern artist.
So in your case, I guess it was deleted because it's a vector of a western
singer =\
But you're right, I agree that we do need to have more concrete rules regarding
this. It's just that cases vary, and we have to decide on where to draw the
line.....
I hope I have time, with school and all these projects I wanna do I was
thinking of doing a MwuxMurrue summer-themed drawing maybe
I'll make a wallpaper version of that (do I have to vector? or can I just draw
instead? )
Quote: 3. Windows (or at least
anything up to XP) only likes wallpapers in .BMP format (native bitmap). Not
sure about Vista (as I'm using Mac OS - and a former Windows user - you may
understand why I switched) and whether it is as fussy. If this is the case,
you'll need to open the file in a third-party program (e.g. Paint) and change it
to a bitmap (.BMP).
That's not true. I remember even back for
Windows 98 can use JPG for wallpapers. XP can use JPGs too.
But yes, please provide more information. Are you able to see the images at all,
are you not able to save it properly, or is it just making it into the wallpaper
that's the problem?
I find it easier to vector with mouse actually uh, I
don't really know any other vectoring program that's free besides Inkscape....
What about just a drawing program where you can use tablet then? SAI is mostly a
painting program, but it does have a "vectoring" function (it's not a
true vector, just a pentool that rasterizes things). While it's not free,
there's a trial version available. Google for "Paint tool SAI".
Opencanvas is good for drawing, very tablet-sensitive. The simplist version 1.1
is free. But it's not a vectoring program...
The strange thing is that in IE, I can see some colour =\

Ah I see why the colours aren't showing up in Firefox. When you use the
skinbuilder to put in the custom hexadecimal colours, you probably forgot to put
in the leading "#". ie, you put in "DA70D6" for the
background instead of "#DA70D6". It seems that Firefox saw that the
colour didn't have the # and thus didn't treat it as a colour (ie it stripped it
out of the code), but Internet Explorer still treated it as a colour even
without the # and rendered it.
Anyway, try reuploading the images, and put the "#" before the hex
code whenever you want custom colours
It might be your Internet connection or something, maybe it times out in the
middle of download and corrupts the image? It happened to me before, but not
very often, so I'm not sure what would be causing it. Do you download straight
from the Download link (ie right click, "Save As Target", or click on
it and it asks you whether to save or open the image and you save straight to
your computer), or do you open the image in your browser and right click the
image and "Save Image As"? (Uh, I hope that wasn't too confusing ^^;;
, I just wondered if your browser lets you see the image...)
I think it's just the design, not necessarily "useful" in any special
way. Have you noticed that all of Athrun's Gundams look kinda similar? They're
all red, and the design of the heads look similar. I think it's just to identify
Athrun as the pilot. Much like how the Freedom and the Strike look kinda similar
in colours (blue white red) and the head antennas look similar, to identify
Kira.
I think they were most likely deleted due to your lack of description. You
simply put "..." in some of your descriptions, and you didn't put any
signatures. Also, I think it's due to the fact that you used screencaps in the
background for 2 of those pics. Esp in the first St. Seiya one, the background
is pretty blurry because it looks like the screencap has been enlarged
(stretched). I'd suggest vectoring/recolouring the background as well (you can
simplify it if you wish).
Well, since MT is supposed to be a site that's based on
anime/manga/Japanese-related things, we'd like to keep it Japanese-related. It
doesn't necessarily have to be anime/manga/video game, it can be J-pop artists
or Japanese artists. We've also expanded a bit to include other Oriental artists
(like Chinese or Korean for example). The only exception is for original art,
because we like seeing people being creative ^^ .. but yeah, nothing from
western cartoons... which is why there aren't walls and vectors of say, Kim
Possible or the Simpsons or Disney (unless it's Kingdom hearts-related)
Chimaera:
1. - The Gothic Melancholy - by erikamirou
2. S h i r o. by Sakura-Dust
Crossdressing:
1. The Goddess of Citrus by sailorchiron
2. Handsome Turns Into Beauty by Scampi
phew, I'm glad we can vote for 3 instead of having to choose one
Tale of Two Sisters ~ Crimson Portrait By ArtificialRaindrop
Pride and Prejudice By miriambr
Kill Anotsu By Erdbeermilch
Oh but it's more fun if you guess....
Yeah, anyone can guess, even if you didn't submit a wall
Just
send a PM to Tama-Neko. The more the merrier ^^

@Myrrhlynn: yes, please do 2 truths and lie, I gave you mine, so it's only fair =P
That picture looks like a modified version of this scan: Princess of the moonlight (oxo) by xandra The information is in the description of the scan.
Yup, I think "favourite character" can be from existing series (ie, fanart is fine).
Tale of Two Sisters ~ Crimson Portrait By ArtificialRaindrop
Run like Wind! By Bernouli
my 2 truths and a lie:
1. My wall(s) features only girls
2. I only made one wall
3. My wall(s) has a window in it
yay guessing round is here! aww, I'm disappointed that we only had 5 people participating.. and Piccolobear didn't make one! *gasp*

Which wallpaper is it? I went into your gallery and can't find anything called "Chinese garden". Do you have a link to it?
Lol, swap bodies? =S ... I was thinking of giving them new outfits anyway, 'cause wearing uniform in the summer is no fun
Aww... why does it have to be vectored?
I want
to just paint it, it's much faster....

Like kokuyu said, please do not create threads announcing your leaving or coming back. either PM people, or put a message on your userpage.
Don't worry, we don't ban accounts unless you broke the rules 3 times.
It looks alright. The file size is a bit too big for MT though, so you'd have to resize it
Please don't bump threads over a year old. Closed.
I see what you see in Firefox as well. For the background, the images used are http://images.minitokyo.net:8001/skins/279847/html/bg01.jpg , http://images.minitokyo.net:8001/skins/279847/html/bg02.jpg etc, and none of those images are found, which means the images probably didn't upload for some reason (maybe the file size is too big, or maybe it's not in JPG format or the connection timed out while uploading etc).
The strange thing is that in IE, I can see some colour =\

Okay, it's been deleted. In the future, please use the "Report" function (on your left menu under "user options") instead of starting a thread.
